Reclusive farmer, Grady Lee Jr., discovers his late father’s journal containingplans for an electromagnetic generator, based on the lost research of NikolaTesla. With the help of his friend, Boudreaux, Grady begins working on thedevice. Just as progress is underway, Grady gets the unexpected news thathis stepsister has died and custody of her son, Kai, falls to him. New parentalresponsibilities disrupt Grady’s obsession with the machine; however, Kai mightjust be instrumental in finishing the work.
