Sundowners
Directed by Pavan Moondi
USA, Narrative, 95 minutes
On one hand, Sundowners is an indie comedy about the existential ennui of thirty-somethings frustrated that their day jobs don’t fit their artistic ambitions. On the other, it’s a classic comedy of errors. Aspiring filmmaker, Alex, needs to pay his rent so he accepts a job to film a wedding at a Mexican resort. Best friend Justin joins as his assistant. Problem is Alex’s boss, Tom, played by Tim Heidecker, is an unapologetically self-deluded jerk who has all but set them up for complete failure.
